2021 Blog Report

2021 Blog Report And Plans For 2022

Although our first year on the internet was short, it was very good. The following post is a brief report on the growth of TDA in 2021 and some of the site’s highlights from this past year. I think reports like these are important for several reasons. Not only are they a good measure of a blog’s growth, but they inform the users of their impact on the website. Although we are still rather small, without my readers TDA would not have been able to start growing as fast as it has been. For my 2021 readers and those of you to come, thank you. Without further ado, let’s go over this past year and our plans for the year to come!

Traffic

In the four months that TDA has been active thus far, the pace at which our traffic grew was far beyond my expectations. Within these four months, TDA has managed to hit around 1000 monthly users! When I first launched TDA in September of this year, my initial goal was to reach 500 monthly pageviews by the end of the year. As you can see, we ended up doing more than double that! It’s still wild to me that 1000 people (and counting) come to read my content every single month. Again, I can’t thank you all enough for that. That being said, the amount of traffic TDA gets is growing rapidly every single day. I am hoping that by this time next year we will have a decently sized community to call our own :).

Earnings

While not very much money to some, the amount that TDA did bring in during these past 4 months is much more than I initially expected. TDA managed to make around 50 USD in 2021. I wasn’t actually expecting to make anything this quickly but you all proved me wrong! Thanks to you guys, TDA has now paid for itself and actually managed to make a few dollars in profit! If you’re curious where this money came from, about 12 USD was earned from Google Ads while the rest was earned via amazon affiliate links. Again, I can’t thank you enough.

2021 Highlights

Instagram Launch

This year TDA launched an Instagram account to showcase posts from the website while producing other small pieces of content for you guys. The account grew much faster than I anticipated racking up almost 500 followers at the time of this writing. If you want to check it out, you can find it here!

Forum

While still very new, it’s with much excitement that I am announcing the launch of an internal forum on TDA! I intend this to be used for a wide variety of things; from questions to casual discussions. My main goal with the forum is to build a more connected community on the website. You can access the forum and make an account here!

Plans for 2022

As 2021 comes to a close and the new year begins, I have a few goals I am going to try and meet in 2022. My primary goal for the coming year is to develop a community revolving around TDA. Unlike most other blogs that just publish content for random readers, I plan to not only publish content but also to provide different ways for me and the aviation community to interact via TDA. If you have any suggestions don’t hesitate to drop them down in the comments! Furthermore, I plan to publish more content at a higher rate and more consistently. My minimum goal is to publish a new article every weekday (M-F). With all of this in mind, I hope to have a significantly larger community by the end of 2022. My goal is to reach 50k monthly pageviews by this time next year. If things perform the way they did this year, I have no doubts we’ll be able to reach that number. All in all, TDA will be more focused on consistency and community in 2022.

Final Thoughts

To sum things up, you all have far exceed my expectations and I cant not begin to thank you enough. Although 2021 was a short year for us, your overwhelming support is much appreciated. I hope you all enjoy what we do here at TDA and if you have any comments, concerns, or critiques, do not hesitate to get in touch! All of that to say, I am very thankful for my readers and am excited to begin 2022 with all of you.

Sincerely, your Desktop Aviator,

Camden Crace
